The Western Region is HUGE! From Alaska through British Columbia to San Diego and out to Hawaii - offers community for everyone with our strongest chapters founded on church family. The kids who are growing up in DiscoveryBound will continue to lead it in the future. And, as one chapter worker put it, "I've found that learning to work together outside of church promotes more harmony working together within church." Adults are finding the fellowship of local gatherings just as vital to them as it is for youth!
Many chapter volunteers also help plan, promote and participate in Sunday School workshops, Summits, lectures, and other CS events focused on spiritual growth. Regional and local chapter events build the framework for consistent community that supports church. Our growing grassroots network of church contacts is key to helping spread the word. Let us know if you'd like to be one for your church!

OTM's (Operation Testimony Meeting) - Combining support for local churches with wider fellowship

A variety of fundraisers that support participation in DB regional and national events and Christian Science camp

Ongoing commitment to giving our youth a Christian Science camp experience. It's about supporting and encouraging our youth and celebrating their growth when they return!
All chapter areas gather together around the holidays, sharing musical talent, reaching out to the community, and celebrating the Christ spirit. There's also a growing focus on including service in our chapter planning. As we nurture each other, we're prepared to reach beyond and share with others how we're living Christian Science.
Expansion? We're looking for spark plugs to support DiscoveryBound in Alaska, Idaho, Central California and parts of Los Angeles. Consider joining your local friends to work together to build community through a DB chapter. It can be simple, consistent fellowship that blesses everyone in your family, no matter what the size.

The San Diego and Beyond chapter is hosting a trip to Hawaii to hike down Mt. Haleakala on Maui over Thanksgiving 2010. All are welcome, space is limited.
